3 Scrumptious Eggnog Dessert Recipes That Will Make Christmas More Fun

Eggnog, whether alcoholic or not, is a sweet, frothy drink most popular during the holidays. Made traditionally with cream, eggs, milk and sugar, this Christmas treat doesn’t only have to be served as a drink – add more fun to your Christmas menu by serving these scrumptious eggnog desserts!

Creamy Eggnog Custard

What you need:

  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 pinches ground nutmeg

Pour water over an 8×8 inch baking dish. Set aside. In a medium bowl, combine egg, eggnog and sugar. Divide mixture into 2 small baking dishes. Top with nutmeg. Place smaller dishes into the baking dish filed with water. Bake in a pre-heated oven (350 degrees F) until tops are set, 30 to 45 minutes.

Cheesecake A La Eggnog

What you need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup eggnog
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons rum
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • Whipped cream (garnish)

Mix together graham cracker crumbs, 2 tablespoons white sugar and butter in a small bowl. Press mixture into a 9-inch spring form pan and bake in a pre-heated oven (325 degrees F) for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool. In a blender or food processor, combine eggnog, cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and flour and blend until smooth. Add eggs, rum and nutmeg then pulse again to mix ingredients well. Pour mixture over cooled crust and bake for 10 minutes in 325 degrees F. Lower heat to 250 degrees F and bake for another 45 minutes until cake is barely firm to the touch. Allow to cool before removing from baking pan. Top with whipped cream.

Eggnog Tapioca

What you need:

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 1/2 cups low-fat milk
  • 2 cups prepared eggnog
  • 1 cup pearl tapioca, prepared
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, combine milk and eggnog then prepared tapioca and salt. Cook and stir frequently until mixture is barely simmering. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. While waiting to simmer, beat eggs in a bowl. Mix about 2 tablespoons of the tapioca mixture with the egg then pour mixture onto the pan. Increase heat to medium-low and simmer until mixture has thickened, about 15 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
