Animal Crossing New Horizons Christmas Decor Update

The holidays are upon us, and that means a new seasonal update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. From December 15th onwards, players will be able to collect Ornaments and enjoy holiday island decorations. Ornaments are a brand new crafting material that can be used to create a series of festive DIY recipes.

During this time, some of the cedar trees on your island will be decorated with fairy lights rather than sticks or pine cones. These are the ones you want to shake as they will drop Ornaments in red, blue, and gold. If you don’t get a tree to drop an ornament on the first try, don’t give up – just keep shaking. It takes a lot of patience to collect all three colors, but it’s worth the effort!

Once you have all three colors, you can begin creating the festive DIY recipes. These will allow you to decorate your home and island with fancy wreaths, festive candles, and table lamps. These will also allow you to add a touch of whimsy to any room in your house by adding a giant ornament or a jolly ornament table.

All of these items are part of the Festive Furniture Series, which also includes a wreath that can be unlocked by Isabelle during Toy Day or from balloon presents given to you by villagers in celebration of the Festive Season. The wreath can be customized by Timmy and Tommy at Nook’s Cranny with 2 customization kits or can be purchased from Cyrus at Harv’s Island for 1,700 bells.
