Christmas Day 2020 – How to Make it More Fun and Less Stressful

Christmas is one of the most special festivals celebrated by millions of people around the world as a celebration of Jesus’s birthday. Traditionally, it’s the time of year when families get together and enjoy each other’s company and friends. Christmas Day is a special day for Christians who believe that Santa Claus is a man who lives at the North Pole with a flowing white beard and a pot belly who distributes presents to children if they’ve been good throughout the year.

The covid-fueled coronavirus pandemic has put a damper on celebrations in many places around the globe, but not all. In parts of Australia and New Zealand, some restrictions are loosening up, while others remain in place or have gotten tighter.

However, even in these more flexible areas, the holidays aren’t going to look the same as they did in the past. Travel bans, restrictions on household mixing and a mounting number of infections are making it more difficult to enjoy this holiday with the people you love.

For those still planning to gather for Christmas, here are some ideas for making it a little more fun and less stressful. If your family isn’t into buying each other gifts, consider donating to a charity or food bank. For those who can’t make the trek over the river and through the woods to Grandma’s house this year, try hosting a virtual Christmas with loved ones via video calls. Several apps, including Teleparty, work with most streaming services and allow you to display multiple family members on your TV for an all-in-one group viewing experience.
