Christmas on the bayou is a holiday tradition that brings the family together to celebrate. This year it will take place on December 9th from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Enjoy gumbo, live music, kids activities, character photo ops, food vendors and more! All children will receive a teddy bear gift. The Sugarplum Shindig includes a breakfast buffet, hot cocoa bar (mimosas for the adults), entertainment and teddy bear parade.
When successful New York marketing executive Katherine discovers her workaholic ways are taking a toll on her eight-year-old son, she decides to spend the holidays with him and her mother in her hometown on the bayou. When local good boy Caleb tries to rekindle a childhood romance and convince her to stay, she must choose between the bright lights of the big city and the quiet, gentle rhythms of her Southern roots. Only a small miracle orchestrated by Papa Noel will steer her heart to where it truly belongs.
Filmed in and around Lafayette, Louisiana, this movie stars Hilarie Burton, Tyler Hilton, Danneel Ackles and Randy Travis. It can be watched with a Lifetime Movie Club subscription or an Amazon Prime video subscription.
The film also features an excellent performance from Zack, the main character’s son. He is able to express his character’s feelings of betrayal and confusion. It is interesting that he tells Papa Noel that the reason he stopped believing in Santa was because his parents split up and he thought he would never see them again.
