Decorating with a Christmas Tree Collar
What is a Christmas Tree Collar anyway? A Christmas tree cuff is a simple decorative band which completely hides the actual tree. As with your normal shirt, a Christmas tree cuff wraps snugly around your arm, forming a neat decorative cuff on the bottom of your tree. It can be used as decoration around any Christmas themed tree – you could even use it around the wreath or mantel, if you wanted. If you’re using one for decoration only, then it is basically a plain band which doesn’t actually serve a purpose, but it still looks very nice.
These are made from two different types of material. Usually, you will choose a metal and then choose your color. A lot of people like to buy a plain silver metal, or even some gold-looking metal. For Christmas decorations, you will usually use the same type of material with a bit of sparkle added in, such as tinsel. The nice thing about these Christmas tree collars is that they are very inexpensive, and can be bought online for a reasonable price.
If you are looking for something a little different and more festive, then you may want to opt for a classic silver-topped christmas tree collar. This can easily be found on many websites, and then you can also buy a separate piece for your tree skirt. Just remember that you should always choose a colored collar so that you can see through to the bottom of your tree, just in case you need to remove it for cleaning (or just to make sure that the birds won’t see it slipping off!). Some people even use colored cuffs on their tree skirts, to make them look like snowflakes instead.
