Christmas Unwrapped

The Gist:
Amber Stevens West stars as Charity, an ambitious reporter who learns the true meaning of Christmas when she investigates Erik Gallagher (Marco Grazzini), a local philanthropist who insists all the presents that arrive for his town’s community at Christmas are donated by Santa himself. When she discovers the truth, she is forced to choose between pursuing her story and protecting the goodwill of her subject.

In a year filled with countless holiday movies, Lifetime’s Christmas Unwrapped delivers. This movie, executive-produced by Tiffany Haddish, is a heartwarming tale that will warm your heart and thaw your soul.

The film stars Amber Stevens West, who shines as the hard-working journalist assigned to investigate the mystery of local philanthropist Erik Gallagher. Her boss, Janet (Cheryl Ladd, ‘Charlie’s Angels’), is eager for the scoop. But when Charity uncovers the truth, she realizes it could break her heart – and Santa’s.

With a dash of A Christmas Prince’s loose grasp on journalism and a bit of Miracle on 34th Street’s Santa evangelism, this film delivers all the festive fun. And, while it does eventually fall victim to the cliches of the genre – disappearing messages and corrupted interviews – it still manages to give us an original twist.
